After five years, over thirty concerts, and countless collaborations, FEED draws to a close with one final concert. We are proud to host our friends TRANSFORMA performing together with PC NACKT (Apparat, co-producer) for a fitting end to the Berlin story we are so fortunate to be a part of. The team from FEED has future plans to be revealed at the concert, but FEED will be no more. This series would not have been possible without your support, and it is with great pleasure to invite you and your friends to one final and exceptional show.

GRAETE is the name given by Transforma to their audio visual instrument, consisting of mechanical, image- and sound-making equipment, cameras and microphones.
In the performance of the same name, Transforma collaborate with musician and composer PC Nackt. The resulting audiovisual stream is a culmination of both artists actions performed live on stage.

"Transforma is among the few returning acts to the FEED program. Each concert has set a benchmark for audio-visual performance, direct experience and reminds us why we do what we do." FEED, Berlin

The product of their continuing investigation into pure materiality and manual processes, Transforma use their visual instrument to explore prototypes of simple human tools and their application.

During the performance, the differentiation between the archaic objects and the modern technological setup disappears. A piece of wood or stone becomes recognisable as a tool, as does a camera or a spotlight. In the first scene, prehistoric humans sit in a cave using wooden sticks to stir a fire. In the last, modern humans analyse the same fire with new machinery.  GRAETE is an imagined time-travel in a sequence of sounds and images.
Transforma have worked extensively with PC Nackt (Warren Suicide) for Apparat’s last two european tours and for The Lion in Winter at Deutsches Theater/Berlin. For GRAETE, they have developed an audiovisual score - a common language which brings both artists sensibilities together while simultaneously leaving space for improvisation.

The artist group Transforma was founded in 2001 by Luke Bennett, Baris Hasselbach and Simon Krahl.

They met while studying experimental film and media at the Berlin University of the Arts and and soon moved from making videos, sound works, and images to installations, live cinema and performances.

Transforma has also produced work in collaboration with musicians such as Apparat, Dieter Meier, Alex Banks, Chloé as well as the theatre director Sebastian Hartmann, choreographer Sônia Mota and the artist Yro.

Transforma has performed live and exhibited at festivals and venues around the world e.g. KW Institute for Contemporary Art in Berlin, Barbican Centre in London, Moscow International Biennial for Young Art, FAD Festival de Arte Digital in Belo Horizonte, Art.Ware Festival in Hong Kong, Sequences Festival in Reykjavik, CTM Festival in Berlin, Todays Art in Den Haag and Deutsches Theater Berlin.

Transforma has held workshops and artist talks at the Museum of Modern Art in Ljubljana, the Berlin University of the Arts, the University of Hamburg and at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig.

The musician and producer Patrick Christensen aka PC Nackt is amongst Germany`s most versatile artists. Combining sounds and philosophies of popular and experimental music are the shaping elements of his work.

Nackt has written music for movies, tv shows, theatre, dance pieces and computer games. He has produced albums, done remixes and has performed around the world.

In 2002 he co-founded the electro-punk band Warren Suicide, as well as Chez Cherie, a recording factory with an adjoining art association in Berlin’s Neukölln district. This led to cooperations with musicians and artists such as Placebo, José Gonzales, Kim Wilde, Dub Pistols, filmmaker Wim Wenders, The Dutch Philharmonic and many others. One of the most prominent projects by the collective is the experimental orchestra project  "The Berlin/Gothenburg String Theory", which Nackt conducts in concert halls around Europe.

Since 2011 PC Nackt has been a co-producer and co-writer for the Berlin musician Sascha Ring aka Apparat, regularly performing on tour with him. Together they received the Soundtrack Stars Award at The VeniceFilmFestival 2015 for the score of the Drake Doremus movie "Equals".
